Our granddaughter Morrow turned 1 on July 22. Due to the pandemic, we were not able to travel to be there for the big event, but we enjoyed a nice long FaceTime visit and lots of pictures, including the one above. Not too long before her birthday one of my favorite quilt designers, Lorna McMahon of Sew Fresh Quilts released a free pattern for a Winnie the Pooh mini quilt. Morrow’s room is decorated in a Pooh theme so I got to sewing. It just worked out that I was able to send it in time for her birthday, along with a little dress I made from fabric I had purchased shortly after she was born.
Mini Quilt: Winnie the Pooh & Friends by Sew Fresh Quilts. I made the larger size in her pattern and added ½ inch additional width to all the sashings and borders for a little more white background. Fabrics from my stash. Warm & White batting; Quilting Design: Modern Waves from Wasatch Quilting
Dress: Flutterby Top from Maybe She Made It. I made it a little longer than the pattern.
